Privacy Policy
Rohxn App Studio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the GPS Locator mobile application (the “App”). This Privacy Policy informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App, and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using GPS Locator, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. About the App
GPS Locator is a fake GPS / mock location application that allows Android users to simulate a virtual GPS position on their device. The App is designed for legitimate use cases including:
- Mobile app development and testing
- Location-based game assistance
- Privacy protection
- Network and location service testing
2. How the App Works — Developer Mode Requirement
GPS Locator uses Android’s official Mock Location API to override your device’s GPS coordinates with a custom location of your choosing.
To use this feature, Android requires a one-time system-level setup:
- Enable Developer Options — Go to Settings → About Phone → tap Build Number 7 times to unlock Developer Options on your device.
- Select Mock Location App — Go to Settings → Developer Options → Select Mock Location App and choose GPS Locator.
Note: This setup is a mandatory requirement enforced by Android for all mock location applications — it is not a security risk. Developer Options is a standard Android feature. GPS Locator only uses this permission to set your device’s mock GPS coordinates; it does not access, modify, or interfere with any other developer settings on your device.
3. Information We Collect
GPS Locator does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers.
Here is a detailed breakdown of what the App accesses and why:
3.1 Location Data
- What we access: Your device’s real GPS coordinates (to display your current position on the map).
- How it’s used: Displayed on-screen only. Never sent to us or any third party.
- Where it’s stored: Not stored anywhere — only used in real-time while the app is open.
3.2 Saved Locations (Favorites)
- What we store: Location names and coordinates that you manually save in the App.
- Where it’s stored: Locally on your device using Android’s SQLite database (Room library).
- Who can access it: Only you, only through this App.
- Can you delete it? Yes — via Settings → Reset App Data inside the App, or by uninstalling the App.
3.3 App Preferences
- What we store: Your UI preferences such as dark/light mode selection.
- Where it’s stored: Locally on your device using Android SharedPreferences.
- Who can access it: Only this App.
3.4 What We Do NOT Collect
- ❌ Name, email, phone number, or any personal identity
- ❌ Device identifiers (IMEI, Advertising ID, etc.)
- ❌ Usage statistics or analytics
- ❌ Crash reports or diagnostics
- ❌ Browsing history or search queries outside the App
- ❌ Payment information
4. Permissions Used by This App
The following Android permissions are requested by GPS Locator:
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION | To display your real GPS position on the map and center the map view |
ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION | Fallback location for devices without fine GPS |
FOREGROUND_SERVICE | To keep mock location active in the background while you use other apps |
POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+) | To show a persistent notification while mock location is running, so you always know the service is active and can stop it anytime |
INTERNET | To load Google Maps tiles and fetch location search results from Google Places API |
Location permission is used solely to show your position on the map. It is never used for tracking, advertising, or any purpose beyond what is visible in the App.
5. Third-Party Services
GPS Locator integrates with the following third-party services. These services have their own privacy policies which we encourage you to review:
5.1 Google Maps SDK
- Purpose: Renders interactive maps inside the App.
- Data shared: Map tile requests (no personal data).
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
5.2 Google Places API
- Purpose: Provides location search and address lookup functionality.
- Data shared: Your text search queries are sent to Google’s servers to return place results. No location or personal data is attached to these requests.
- Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
We do not control the data practices of Google or any other third party. We encourage you to read their privacy policies.
6. Data Storage and Security
All data generated by GPS Locator is stored locally on your device. We implement the following practices to keep your data secure:
- All saved data resides only within your device’s private app storage.
- No data is transmitted to any remote server owned or operated by Rohxn App Studio.
- The App does not use any cloud storage, user accounts, or remote databases.
- Your data is automatically deleted when you uninstall the App.
- You can manually clear all app data at any time via Settings → Reset App Data inside the App.
7. Foreground Service & Notifications
When mock location is active, GPS Locator runs a Foreground Service — a background process that keeps the fake GPS coordinates active while you use other applications.
Android requires all Foreground Services to display a persistent notification so users are always aware the service is running. This notification:
- Appears only while mock location is active.
- Does not collect or transmit any data.
- Can be dismissed by stopping the mock location from within the App.
8. Responsible and Lawful Use
GPS Locator is provided as a tool for legitimate, lawful purposes only. The App is intended for:
✅ Developers testing location-based apps ✅ Users protecting their location privacy ✅ Educational and research purposes ✅ Testing and QA workflows
Users are solely responsible for ensuring that their use of this App complies with:
- All applicable local, national, and international laws
- The Terms of Service of any third-party app or platform they use alongside GPS Locator
Rohxn App Studio does not encourage, support, or condone the use of this application to:
- Deceive, defraud, or mislead others
- Violate any platform’s Terms of Service in a harmful manner
- Engage in any illegal activities
9. Children’s Privacy
GPS Locator is not directed at children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through this App, please contact us immediately and we will take steps to remove such information.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: Request information about what data the App holds about you.
- Deletion: Delete all app data via Settings → Reset App Data, or by uninstalling the App.
- Withdrawal of consent: You may revoke location permission at any time from Android Settings → Apps → GPS Locator → Permissions.
Since GPS Locator stores no data on external servers, most data rights are exercised directly on your device.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or legal requirements. When we do:
- The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page will be revised.
- If changes are significant, we will make reasonable efforts to notify users via an in-app notice.
Continued use of GPS Locator after any changes to this Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
